About
Dr. Ju graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, School of Engineering Cambridge, MA with a with a bachelor’s degree in biological engineering and a minor in biology. He received a medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Ju completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Department of Orthopaedics, Los Angeles, CA. He went on to complete fellowship training in spine surgery at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute/Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA. He is board certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).
Dr. Ju specializes in the surgical treatment of spinal disorders such as stenosis, disc herniations, spondylolisthesis, spinal deformity, spinal trauma, and tumors. He is experienced with minimally invasive surgery, robotic spine surgery, and motion preservation (non-fusion surgery). He customizes each treatment plan to each patient’s needs, with a focus on non-operative management when possible.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Ju has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters. He maintains an active research interest in degenerative diseases of the spine, including studying new regenerative techniques. He has received research grants and awards from organizations including the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF), Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), and Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS). Dr. Ju is a member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, the North American Spine Society and a reviewer for the Global Spine Journal.
He sees patients at the OAM offices in Great Neck and Huntington, NY. He is a member of the medical staff at St. Francis Hospital, NYU Langone Hospital Long Island (Winthrop), and Northwell North Shore University Hospital.
