About

Ashley Burlage, MD, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Tulane University. She continued her education at Tulane, earning her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine. She graduated at the top of her class and was inducted to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Following medical school, Dr. Burlage completed a 5-year residency in orthopaedic surgery at North Shore University Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where she was named chief resident. During her residency, she received the Alumni Day Best Residency Paper Award three consecutive years. Following residency, Dr. Burlage completed a hand surgery fellowship at NYU Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases.

Dr. Burlage is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Burlage has been published in the Journal of Hand Surgery and the Journal of Translational Medicine, among others. She is also a Castle Connolly Top Doctor.

Dr. Burlage specializes in hand and upper extremity and has expertise in treating conditions such as: trigger finger, tendonitis, basal joint arthritis, carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, and upper extremity fractures. Dr. Burlage also treats conditions of the shoulder and routinely performs shoulder replacements and arthroscopic rotator cuff surgeries.

As a physician, her goal is to return her patients to function. Her philosophy is to exhaust conservative measures before turning to surgery.

Dr. Burlage treats patients both surgically and nonsurgically. Her practice focuses on adult and pediatric hand surgery, upper extremity trauma and disorders of the shoulder, elbow and wrist.

Born and raised on Long Island, Dr. Burlage is deeply rooted in her hometown community. Dr. Burlage volunteered in the emergency department at Huntington Hospital after college and she resides in Huntington with her husband and children.
