Bruce Seideman, MD, received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1981. He completed a two-year internship and residency in general surgery on the Harvard Medical School teaching service at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. While at Beth Israel Hospital, he received the Harris Yett award for outstanding work in orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Seideman subsequently completed a three-year residency in orthopedic surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City in 1986. He was a postgraduate fellow in hip and knee joint replacement surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, until he joined Orthopaedic Associates of Manhasset in 1987.

Dr. Seideman’s practice focuses on both primary and complex revision total hip and knee replacement surgery, as well as related disorders and arthritis of the hip and knee. With his colleagues at North Shore Hospital, he developed a widely used total hip replacement system and has performed clinical research on knee replacement systems. He has lectured nationally on various aspects of complex hip and knee replacement surgery.

Additionally, Dr. Seideman has expertise in ambulatory total hip and knee replacement and has been performing these outpatient surgeries at East Hills Ambulatory Surgery Center and Saint Francis Hospital.

Dr. Seideman is chief of the joint replacement service at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York. Prior to accepting his position at St. Francis, he served as chief of the joint replacement service at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York, from 2000 through 2011. He specializes in hip and knee replacement.

Dr. Seideman is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS), a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Dr. Seideman has been named a Best Doctor by New York Magazine and is a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in the field of hip and knee replacement surgery. He also is a U.S. News & World Report and Newsday Top Doctor.
